Description

Introduction The diversity of the current student body in higher education poses new challenges in regard to engagement of students from refugee backgrounds for whom the university may be a culturally alienating place (Krause et al., 2005). One of the challenges that academics face is the paucity of research in relation to students from refugee backgrounds in Australia; in particular, the absence of literature on the learning styles and academic needs of African and Middle Eastern students.
